Try your own numbers
These are editable planning assumptions, not prices we have verified. Calculations stay in your browser.
Operating result = (price − direct cost) × units − monthly fixed costs. Before owner pay, taxes, financing and startup recovery. At these inputs, delivery requires 10 hours per month, plus any work not included in your per-unit estimate. Sales volume is a scenario, not a forecast.
How the calculation works
- Contribution per unit = price − direct cost per unit.
- Monthly operating result = contribution per unit × units sold − monthly fixed costs.
- Break-even units = monthly fixed costs ÷ contribution per unit, rounded up.
- Startup funding gap = startup budget − cash already available.
The result is a planning scenario from the numbers you enter. It is not a forecast, a quote or tax advice.
Questions
Is this calculator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and does not save the numbers you enter.
Does the monthly result include my pay and taxes?
No. It is the result before owner pay, income tax, loan payments and recovery of startup costs. Add your pay to fixed costs if you want it included.
What counts as a direct cost?
A cost that rises with each sale, such as materials, packaging, payment fees or a contractor paid per job. Rent, software and insurance usually go in monthly fixed costs.
